This project is to evaluate the efforts expended by FDOT during the 2004 hurricane events, Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne; supply a review of lessons learned from previous hurricane preparation responses and recovery efforts; and provide recommendations for improving those efforts. Information will be gathered from FDOT Central Office staff, contractors, and partner agencies, to fulfill the primary goal and will focus specifically on the following areas:
- 511 Operations
- Road Rangers Operations
- TMC Operations
- Microwave Systems
- Communications with Cell Phones and Radios
- ITS Field Devices
- Generators/Power Issues
- Signal Equipment
- Signal Operations
- Mast Arm/Span Wire Issues
- Expectations for Signal Restoration
- Maintenance of Traffic
- General Recommendations
